Graydon Carter has been editor of Vanity Fair since July 1992. Under his editorship, the magazine has won eleven national magazine awards, including two for general excellence for magazines with a circulation of more than one million – the highest honor in magazine publishing. He is the author of What We’ve Lost, a comprehensive critical examination of the Bush administration, and has edited the bestselling Vanity Fair’s Hollywood and Vanity Fair Portraits. Carter has also produced a number of highly acclaimed documentary films, including The Kid Stays in the Picture, 9/11 and Gonzo, about the life and work of Hunter S. Thompson.
