Founder, Blue Legacy International

A globally recognized advocate on water quality and policy, Alexandra Cousteau continues the work of her renowned grandfather Jacques-Yves Cousteau and her father Philippe Cousteau, Sr. She is the founder of Blue Legacy International, a not-for-profit project of The Ocean Foundation that develops and distributes traditional and new media projects, inspiring people to take action on critical water issues. Cousteau serves as the Global Water Advisor and spokesperson for the Live Earth Run for Water 2010. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Global Water Challenge, Mother Nature Network, and EarthEcho International, which she founded with her brother Philippe. Cousteau has been honored as a National Geographic “Emerging Explorer”, and has been selected as a UN Earth Trustee.
