Rick Fedrizzi, BUILT ENVIRONMENT
President and CEO, United States Green Building Council
A founding chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Rick Fedrizzi has been instrumental in cementing the organization’s leadership role in the global sustainability movement. Since its foundation in 1993, Fedrizzi has put an emphasis on the expansion and outreach in education, public policy, and social equity. The development of the internationally recognized LEED Green Building Certification System by the USGBC offers a concise and unique framework for identifying green building solutions. Recognized as a visionary in sustainability by the National Building Museum, Fedrizzi is also a founding member of the World Green Building Council, and has served on the board of UNEP’s Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative.
