Design Drives Destiny is a four-part TV series that will take you to Sub-Saharan Africa, the coast of Panama, and into the minds and laboratories of four of the most progressive innovators and designers of our generation – all recipients of The Earth Awards. At the center of each episode stands one passionate individual – an irascible hero – taking on a monumental challenge to our global environment: water scarcity, energy over-consumption, food shortages and toxic building practices. While the problems our innovators seek to tackle are gigantic in scope, their solutions are often small yet impactful: a water purification and storage system, a new generation LED lighting grid, an organic free-range fish farm, and buildings that take their direction from nature. What it takes to drive positive change, we learn, does not necessarily come from BIG GLOBAL LEADERSHIP, but from thoughtful individuals committed to improve the world they are honored to be a part of.
